NO SPACES FOR FAR RIGHT : A decentralized campaign against Viktor Orbán’s lobby in Brussels

For the past two years, Brussels-based collectives have been mobilizing against the presence of MCC Brussels, the lobbying arm of Viktor Orbán’s government in Brussels. MCC Brussels and the last two years of mobilization

For two years now, Brussels-based collectives are organizing against the presence of MCC Brussels, a lobby linked to Viktor Orban. This ultra-conservative think tank infuse his racist, lgbtqia+phobe and authoritarian ideas among European institutions and in Brussels as a whole (our complete article on the matter here).

Mobilizations have until now aimed to denounciate and and disturb MCC’s conferences and have lead to a number of victories : several hotels have stopped to host them and the price of their insurance went up for their next events. Since september, MCC brussels tends to seek refuge in the neutral zones, at major venues among the bourgeoisie, such as the restaurant de Warande and the Cercle Gaulois.

« Spaces » : the company that hosts the far right in the hearth of Brussels.

Spaces is a multinatiuonal company that provides flexible office spaces : private offices, coworking spaces, meeting rooms and associated services. It is a part of the multinational IWG Plc and owns hundreds of different sites, various among them located in Europe and in Belgium.  

In Brussels, Spaces owns 5 buildings, including one located rue au laines 70, 1000 Brussels, next to the Palace of Justice. It is this building that hosts MCC brussels’s offices.

This piece of information can be found in this article frome Le Soir. It also mentions that the publication The European conservative also closely tied to Viktor Orbàn, share its adress with the MCC brussels.

We argue that Spaces should not make its profit by hosting the far right and it is why, after sending them an e-mail left unanswered, we are launching a campaign to demand that they break their contracts with the MCC brussels and all other oranizations linked to the far right ideology.
